Front Office – Night Auditor

We’re looking for an ambitious, hardworking professional who loves to crunch numbers in between responding to guests’ needs. The Night Auditor will be responsible for all end of day accounting functions and will need to communicate with the security team to ensure the safety of our guests.The ideal applicant should have an accounting background, be capable of working autonomously on basic Front Office functions, such as checking guests in and out, reconciling accounts, communicating with housekeeping, and taking initiative to resolve any issues.A flexible schedule and a willingness to work overtime when necessary are essential.The Night Auditor works the overnight shift from 10pm – 6.30am.Night Auditor – Your day to day: Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable experience for our guests.Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay.Handle cash and credit transactions.Checking guests in and out of the hotel.Schedule guest wake-up calls and prepare reservations for the following day.Verify that all EOD work has been performed by other departments.Accurately prepare the Daily Operations Report for Lasseters Hotel Casino daily.Stocktake the gift shop stock and takings on a weekly/monthly.Liaise with the Security team, follow hotel safety procedures and report all incidents onsite.Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and complaints as needed.Prepare guest bills for next-day checkouts and process reservation cards.Balance cash drawers and record receiptsJump into other ad-hoc duties when your colleagues need your helpWhat we need from you: Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with problems to solve, concerns as well as compliments.Your problem-solving skills to assist guests and colleagues with any issues.Literate and tech-savvy - you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and competent with computers.Flexibility – night shift availability, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.A high school diploma or qualification is desired but not essential.Experience – it is an advantage to have spent at least one year in a front desk or in a customer service position, but it is not essential.What we offer:On the job training and career development.Meals provided while you are on eligible shifts.Uniforms are provided and laundered on site.You’ll join the IHG network, which entitles you to hotel discounts worldwide.25% discount on food and beverage across the Hotel and Casino.
